10 CAPPIE NOMINATIONS FOR ‘All MY SONS’.
The Benjamin School’s Fall production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons received ten nominations for this year’s Cappies Awards. The Cappies program trains high school students to become “theatrical journalists by reviewing and adjudicating high school productions from all over South Florida,” said theater director Jason Peck.
Participating schools, according to Peck, are some of the most prestigious high school theater programs across South Florida.
“This is Benjamin’s first year participating in the awards program and we are beyond thrilled that so many of our fabulous theatrical artists were recognized,” said Peck.
“Sometimes doing theater, you can feel like you’re in a bubble. It’s hard to see shows from other schools, but this was one event where you can come together and theater lovers can come together and have a good time,” said Peck.
Students had the opportunity to see shows produced by other schools, review those shows, and vote on which ones they thought should be nominated for the Cappie awards.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Broward Performing Arts Center in mid-May.
